Hi,
I am wondering if you can tell me if it is the governement or a foreign corporation that runs the mining at Ijen in Java? I want to work to get these men gas masks, some more protection from these fumes. That they give their lives to support their families, and someone is getting rich on the 30 years taken from their lives is so upsetting to me. With all of the profits from sulfur, they should be GIVEN gas masks. Is there any way at all you might be able to help me with this or get me in contact with someone who could?

You can definitely do much cheaper; we decided to spring for a little luxury in this case (A/C, TV, internet). Since I work part-time while we are traveling, wifi is usually one of our requirements, which tends to price us out of the more budget digs.
